Mikhail Evraev and Boris Ebzeev discussed the development of the Yaroslavl region’s electric grid infrastructure

4 June 2026

A working meeting between Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region, and Boris Ebzeev, General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC — the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC, took place on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The parties discussed the development of the region’s electric grid complex, improving the reliability of electricity supply to consumers, and providing energy infrastructure for new social and investment projects.

The branch of Rosseti Centre — Yarenergo is systematically modernizing its electric grid facilities, creating the technical foundation for the region’s economic growth. Key investment projects include the construction of a new 110 kV substation in the Yaroslavl municipal district with a capacity of 32 MVA, the reconstruction of a 110 kV substation with an increase in capacity to 80 MVA, and the modernization of a 35 kV substation in the Pereslavl-Zalessky district.

The meeting participants also discussed the progress of the repair campaign. In 2026, the power engineers plan to clear over 2,700 hectares of routes along power lines, replace approximately 900 poles and nearly 50 km of wire, and repair over 70 km of power lines. This comprehensive package of measures is aimed at increasing the resilience of the electric grid during peak seasons and adverse weather conditions.

Along with infrastructure upgrades, Yarenergo actively supports the socio-economic development of the region. Last year, the power engineers connected over 5,600 facilities with a total capacity of nearly 98 MW, including healthcare, education, sports, and tourism facilities. Among the most significant projects are the second phase of the Volleyball Centre in Yaroslavl, the Shinnik football club’s sports facility, the Nikolo-Solbinsky Convent, and 13 first aid stations in municipal districts.

Another area of joint work between the company and the regional government is enhancing the region’s tourism appeal. In 2025, Yarenergo’s specialists installed architectural lighting for 38 buildings and structures, including 28 cultural heritage sites. The striking lighting design highlighted the historical architecture, making the region’s towns and villages brighter, more welcoming, and more comfortable for residents and visitors.

“The reliability of the power supply determines not only the comfort of residents but also the opportunities for further development of the region, attracting investment, and constructing new social facilities and enterprises. That is why the development of energy infrastructure remains a key focus of our joint work with Rosseti Centre,” noted Mikhail Evraev.

“In 2026, investment in the Yaroslavl region’s electric grid complex has increased significantly and will exceed RUB 4 billion. This will enable the introduction of 153 MVA of new capacity, the construction and reconstruction of nearly 200 kilometres of power lines, and the implementation of a number of systemically important projects. At the same time, the company continues its large-scale repair program and provides connections to new social, industrial, and tourist facilities. This comprehensive approach creates the conditions for both increasing the reliability of electricity supply and further socio-economic development of the region,” stressed Boris Ebzeev.
