Igor Makovskiy: reliable power supply for more than 14 thousand polling stations will be provided by Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region on election days

Specialists from Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region have completed a set of technical and organizational measures to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply to polling stations during voting days.

Please, be reminded that this year residents of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, where by-elections of deputies of the State Duma, elections of governors, deputies of legislative assemblies and local self-government bodies in the capitals of regions will be held, will be able to vote within three days: on the main day on 13 September and additional days on 11 and 12 September. The new voting procedure will affect a total of 41 regions.

14 of them are located in the area of operational responsibility of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region. In the Bryansk, Kaluga, Kostroma, Smolensk and Tambov regions, heads of the subjects will be elected. By-elections of deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation will be held in the Kursk and Yaroslavl regions. In the Belgorod, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kostroma regions, deputies of regional legislative bodies will be elected. In 11 regional capitals - Izhevsk, Vladimir, Voronezh, Ivanovo, Kaluga, Kostroma, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Orel, Smolensk, Tambov - municipal representative authorities will be elected.

Local elections will be held in all regions of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

Power engineers have compiled a list of polling stations connected to grids of the branches, and checked the scheme of their power supply. In total, on the election day, specialists from Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region will provide general power supply to 14,387 polling stations, of which 10,446 are connected directly to the companies’ grids, and 3,941 stations will be powered through grids of local grid companies. This process will be carried out under the personal control of Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

“We have seriously prepared for work in the new conditions of voting. Our specialists work in the maximum mobilization mode and are ready to do everything in their power to ensure reliable power supply to the premises of polling stations and commissions during all three days, to provide residents of the regions of our activity with the opportunity to fully exercise their right to free expression of will,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.

At present, specialists from Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region have already completed extraordinary inspections of electrical installations from which power will be supplied to the polling stations. Additionally, the power supply schemes for socially significant facilities, as well as television and radio broadcasting centres, were checked. The technical condition and availability for the use of backup power supply sources were checked.

Security measures have been strengthened. The communication schemes and procedures for interaction with the regional departments of the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, as well as schemes for alerting and calling personnel in case of emergencies, have been clarified.

A schedule of round-the-clock duty of operational and maintenance personnel has been drawn up. In total, 1,347 crews of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, consisting of 4,318 people and 1597 vehicles, will be on duty in the regions where the companies operate on the voting days. Additional briefings were carried out with the personnel, and the first responding crews were reinforced.

To ensure the reliable functioning of the power system, in all territories where elections will be held, all scheduled repair work and related switchings in existing electrical installations have been cancelled. The power engineers will be on high alert until the signing of minutes at the polling stations. Socially important consumers, if necessary, can be powered from backup energy sources.

The companies have identified and worked out additional methods of customer feedback.
