2 September 2020

Governor of the Yaroslavl Region Dmitry Mironov and General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy held a working meeting. The head of the region and the head of the energy company discussed topical issues of modernizing the power grid complex of the region and the prospects for developing cooperation in terms of projects aimed at improving the comfort of the urban environment.

In particular, Dmitry Mironov and Igor Makovskiy dwelled on the topic of organizing outdoor lighting, which is relevant for the region. Since January 2020, the branch “Rosseti Centre Yarenergo” in the framework of the contract with the municipal public institution “Agency for Municipal Order of Housing and Communal Services” of the city of Yaroslavl has been servicing street lighting in the regional centre. In a short period of time, the power engineers have done a lot of work to bring the city’s external grid into proper condition. About 3,700 street lighting lamps were replaced, about 1,500 lighting fixtures were repaired; preventive examination and minor repairs of more than 5 thousand lighting devices were carried out. At present, the Yarenergo branch has submitted an application for participation in the trade and procurement procedure to carry out work to improve the energy efficiency of street lighting in Yaroslavl. As the head of Rosseti Centre noted, the expansion of cooperation in this area will have a positive effect for the city.

“The Rosseti Centre company has a successful experience of cooperation with large cities and regional centres in terms of maintenance and development of lighting systems for streets, roads, public areas. The availability of qualified personnel, the necessary machinery and equipment allows us to fulfill contracts of any complexity. The transition to modern lighting fixtures and automation of lighting control in the future will help to increase the comfort and safety of citizens, to reduce the costs for these purposes of the city budget,” explained Igor Makovskiy.

Another important issue on the agenda of the meeting was preparation of Yarenergo for the autumn-winter period. Igor Makovskiy told Governor that the branch has already completed the main measures to prepare for the seasonal maximum load. The equipment was repaired at 44 large 35-110 kV power supply centres; about 700 kilometres of power lines of all voltage classes, over 200 transformer substations and distribution points were repaired. More than 1.7 thousand power line poles and over 3.8 thousand insulators were replaced. More than 1,000 hectares of routes along power lines have been cleared of trees and shrubs.

The head of the region and the head of Rosseti Centre discussed the progress of the digital transformation program in the power grid complex of the Yaroslavl region. Yarenergo continues measures to implement digital technologies, improve remote control of equipment, build an intelligent electricity metering system and switch to digital radio communications. This year, the first industrial energy storage device in the region will be installed in the power grid of the Tutaevsky district. The introduction of this type of equipment will provide the standard voltage level in the grid during peak periods.

“The implementation of digital transformation measures is aimed at ensuring reliable and high-quality power supply for residents of the Yaroslavl region. The use of advanced innovative modern technologies in the power grid complex will contribute to ensuring the energy security of the region, its further socio-economic development,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.

Governor of the Yaroslavl Region highly appreciated the cooperation between the region and Rosseti Centre. “Creation of comfortable living conditions for people in the region is directly related to high-quality and reliable power supply. The introduction of new technologies, the development of the power grid complex, the use of the best Russian and global practices will allow us to dynamically develop the industry and steadily increase the socio-economic indicators of the Yaroslavl region,” stressed Dmitry Mironov.
