Igor Makovskiy: Rosseti Centre develops charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the Belgorod region

21 August 2020

This year, Rosseti Centre has installed three new charging stations for electric vehicles in Belgorod and the Belgorodsky region. The project is being implemented by the Belgorod branch of the company within the framework of Rosseti’s Group’s concept for development of electric charging infrastructure in regions of the Russian Federation with the support of the Government of the Belgorod Region.

A fast DC charging station will be installed on the territory of the largest multi-fuel filling complex in the Belgorod region in the village of Severny, located at the entrance to Belgorod from the federal highway M2 “Crimea”. It will be able to charge two electric vehicles at the same time and will be compatible with all models of electric vehicles.

The station will be equipped with light indication, user identification system by means of RFID cards. A full charging cycle will not exceed 30-40 minutes and will make it possible to travel about 200 km.

The other two charging stations have nominal technical characteristics, but are designed for lower power and longer charging - from 6 to 8 hours. They are installed in a large parking complex near the “Lazurny” water park, which was opened in December and became one of the popular recreation places for Belgorod residents, and in the parking lot at the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, which is part of the “smart quarter” of Belgorod.

The project is planned to be implemented by December of this year. After that, the total number of charging stations in the Belgorod region will reach seven. This will be an additional incentive for the development of electric transport in the region. Please, be reminded that the strategy of the country’s automotive industry sets an increase in the fleet of electric vehicles in the Russian Federation by 2025 to 5%.

“Electric vehicles are the future. It is no coincidence that their popularity in developed countries is growing. We are used to looking ahead, and we understand that the topic of developing charging infrastructure for electric transport will very soon become our topical issue for the country as well. Therefore, we are trying to work ahead of the curve created in the regions of our system of conditions for the transition to this environmentally friendly, reliable, economical and safe mode of transport,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.
