8 June 2020

Events led by the Minister of Emergencies of Russia Yevgeny Zinichev included flying around the territory, a review of forces and a coordination meeting. Director General of Rosseti, Pavel Livinskiy, also held a working meeting with Governor of the Tver Region Igor Rudeney.

During the coordination meeting, Pavel Livinskiy reported on measures to prepare the power grid facilities for fire hazard periods, as well as specific events held in the Tver region.

“Rosseti’s group of companies has introduced a risk-based approach to determining the fire resistance of regions. This allows us to effectively determine the set of steps to ensure safe and reliable power supply to consumers,” stressed the Head of Rosseti, Pavel Livinskiy.

The branch “Rosseti Centre - Tverenergo” for 2018-2020 has planned and is carrying out clearing of more than 19 thousand hectares and expansion of more than 2 thousand hectares of routes of overhead lines with a voltage of up to 110 kilovolts. Financing measures to strengthen fire resistance in 2018-2020 amounts to about 1.1 billion rubles.

The meeting participants expressed their support for Rosseti’s strategy for the further consolidation of electric grid assets in the regions of presence. This will increase the reliability of power supply and the quality of services.

The head of the Ministry of Emergencies, Yevgeny Zinichev, drew particular attention to issues of interagency cooperation in organizing both preventive measures and extinguishing natural fires in adjacent territories.

“The concern is the readiness for the fire hazardous period of ownerless electric grid facilities, networks of gardeners’ non-commercial partnerships and small local grid companies. It is necessary to work out the issue of grid consolidation, which will make it possible to apply uniform requirements to all grid assets in terms of technical condition and reliability of power supply,” said the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

As a result of the meeting, it was recognized that the fire hazard situation is developing in accordance with the long-term forecast and remains stable.

“We have formed a multi-level system of protection against forest fires. On 27 March, we introduced a special fire hazard period, it lasts until 1 July. The necessary manpower and resources have been trained, and preventive measures are being taken together with heads of municipalities. This, in particular, made it possible to stabilize the situation with grassland fire. In addition, additional funds were allocated to attract the EMERCOM’s helicopters to patrol the forests,” said Governor of the Tver Region Igor Rudenya.
