Employees of Rosseti Centre installed lighting for “Frontiers of Military Valour” in the Lipetsk region

21 April 2020

On the eve of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, specialists of the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo” carried out a set of measures to light four commemorative sites of the “Frontier of Military Valour” in the Volovsky, Terbunsky and Dolgorukovsky districts of the Lipetsk region. To carry out grid connection of the historical sites, the power engineers constructed a 0.4 kV overhead power line and taps to electricity metering points.

One of the monuments was erected near the village of Volovo, which bears the title of a settlement of military valour, and will be visible from the federal highway M-4. Another one is located in the village of Mishino in the Volovsky district. The third one is in the village of Kamenka in the Terbunsky district, and the fourth in the village of Strelets in the Dolgorukovsky district. During the Great Patriotic War, this area became one of the last lines of retreat of Soviet troops to Moscow. As a result of fierce fighting, the enemy was stopped, and the Red Army went on the offensive. Residents of the Lipetsk region sacredly keep the memory of those events, passing on the history of the war from generation to generation. The grand opening of the steles is planned as part of the events dedicated to the celebration of the anniversary of the Great Victory.

“We remember and are proud of the warriors who sacrificed their lives to defend their homeland from enemies. The task of lighting the monuments has become for us not only technical, but also patriotic, implying participation in historical memory and gratitude to those who fought for the freedom of the Fatherland. No matter how many years have passed since the Great Victory Day, we will never forget how much it cost,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.
