Head of the Rosseti company Pavel Livinskiy gave the command to commission the stylized pole “Bogatyr” in Vladimir

13 February 2020

Director General of Rosseti, Pavel Livinskiy, in a video-conferencing mode from the situation and analysis centre of the energy company, solemnly put into operation the stylized 110 kV power line pole in the form of a legendary hero. The project was implemented by power engineers of “Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Vladimirenergo” in the city of Vladimir.

The opening ceremony of the pole was attended in a video-conferencing mode by Governor of the Vladimir region Vladimir Sipyagin, Director of the Electricity Development Department of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation Pavel Snikkars, Deputy Director General of PJSC Rosseti - Chief Engineer Andrey Mayorov, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy, Acting Deputy General Director - Director of “Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Vladimirenergo” Ivan Yanin, power engineers and residents of the city of Vladimir.

“The integration of grid facilities in the urban environment is one of the components of the concept of digital transformation. I’m sure that the stylized pole, harmoniously integrated into the landscape, will fulfill, in addition to its technological, aesthetic function and will become a new architectural symbol of the region,” stressed Pavel Livinskiy.

In his welcoming speech, the head of the region thanked the power engineers for giving the city a unique symbol. “This is not just a pole, but a real art object, which has become a wonderful gift for the region,” Vladimir Sipyagin emphasized.

The installation site of the power facility (the intersection of the Volga federal highway M-7 and Dobroselskaya street) was determined by the results of a vote of the region’s residents in the summer of 2019. The modernization of the power line pole was carried out as part of the reconstruction of the 110 kV “Rayonnaya - Penkino” overhead section. The pole height is a little over 29 metres, width - 13.8 metres, total weight - more than 42 tons. The stylized pole, made in the image of an old Russian warrior-defender of the Vladimir-Suzdal land of the 12th-13th centuries, will be well visible from any direction, and highlighted at night.

The grid facility will improve not only the reliability of power supply, but also the tourist attractiveness of the region.
