The construction of the Sputnik substation, the launch of digital facilities in 4 regions and the stylized Mayak pole are the results of Pavel Livinskiy’s visit to Voronezh

5 February 2020

The head of Rosseti’s Group of Companies Pavel Livinskiy, during a working visit to Voronezh, monitored the construction of the new 110 kV Sputnik substation, took part in the launching ceremony of new digital facilities for operational-technological management and integrated security located in the Belgorod, Voronezh, Kostroma and Tula regions and together with Governor of the Voronezh region Alexander Gusev opened the stylized pole of the Mayak power line.

At the construction site of the Sputnik substation, Pavel Livinskiy was informed that the facility is being built in full accordance with the concept of “Digital Transformation 2030” as soon as possible. Its construction began in July 2019, and at the moment, all equipment manufactured 100% in Russia has already been installed, and commissioning is underway. The substation is planned to be commissioned exactly in 2020.

During the inspection of the facility, a presentation was made of the reference model of the electric grid complex based on the subsidiaries of Rosseti. Its implementation involves the consolidation of regional and municipal electric grid assets, the establishment of long-term tariffs and the development of value-added services.

“This approach allows us to reduce operating and investment costs while increasing the reliability of power supply, which is positively perceived by consumers of all categories, because while improving the quality of the services provided, the transmission and distribution tariffs can be restrained, and due to new services, customers are able to increase their energy efficiency and, as a result, reduce energy costs,” the head of Rosseti emphasized.
“Last year we were extremely effectively interacting with Rosseti’s Group. A striking example is the agreement on the establishment of long-term tariffs for the transmission and distribution of electricity, thanks to which the power engineers were able to increase the volume of annual investments in the region one and a half times,” stressed Alexander Gusev.

The program of the visit included a ceremony of putting into operation in the format of video-conferencing of grid control centres in the Voronezh and Tula regions, city control centres in Kostroma and Stary Oskol, as well as the Kostroma Security Management Centre.

“An important component of the Digital Transformation 2030 concept, which is implemented by the companies of Rosseti’s Group in accordance with the new development strategy, is the transition with the help of modern technologies to a new management structure with fewer levels of information transfer and decision-making, as well as improvement of the security system of energy facilities, which is achieved thanks to such facilities,” said Pavel Livinskiy.

All centres are equipped with digital communication channels and modern information systems that allow real-time monitoring of the state of electric grid facilities, analysis of electric power quality parameters, and management of production personnel.

The Security Control Centre in Kostroma is equipped with an intelligent video surveillance system that allows to prevent unauthorized penetration of premises of energy facilities of the 35-110 kV grid and ensures their cybersecurity.

At the end of his visit to Voronezh, Pavel Livinskiy, together with the head of the region, Alexander Gusev, commissioned the stylized Mayak power line pole, skillfully included by the power engineers in the city’s architectural ensemble. “This is a gift from the power engineers to residents of Voronezh,” said Pavel Livinskiy.

In addition to the artistic execution of the pole structure, reminiscent of the fact that the city is the cradle of the Russian Navy, the object is equipped with dynamic lighting, capable of changing its appearance as the best world sights in the dark.

“Thanks to Rosseti, a new art object has appeared in Voronezh, which will undoubtedly attract the attention of citizens and guests of our region,” Alexander Gusev commented the pole commissioning.
