The accelerated pace of recovery: from yesterday evening, Rosseti’s specialists halved the number of disconnected consumers in the Tver region

31 October 2019

Specialists of Rosseti’s Group of Companies continue to speed up the elimination of technological violations in the electric grid complex of the Tver region caused by the second blow of the bad weather that hit the region. Thanks to the operational strengthening of the grouping with additional forces and means and the regrouping of energy crews to quickly strengthen the areas where the largest scope of work remained, the power engineers even more increased the positive changes of the emergency recovery work. Starting last night, they managed to halve the number of disconnected consumers. The power supply through the main grid was restored in the Krasnokholmsky, Kashinsky, Kesovogorsky, Kalyazinsky, Andreapolsky, Toropetsky, Belsky, Nelidovsky, Oleninsky, Zharkovsky, Zapadnodvinsky, Zubtsovsky, Rzhevsky, Staritsky, Penovsky and Selizharovsky districts.

Please, be reminded that on the night of 30 October, the Tver region was covered by a new powerful atmospheric front in the form of wet snow and a squally gusty wind. The situation was complicated by the transition of temperature from plus to minus values, which provoked snow sticking to wires and their subsequent breaks. The power engineers of Rosseti, who had been working around the clock for two days before that, were ready to face the bad weather and immediately started emergency repairs. Rounds and inspections of power lines were made, damaged sections were identified and repairs were immediately started. The Headquarters of the electric grid complex continued to operate in a special mode, monitoring the meteorological situation.

All last night, despite the dark night, poor visibility, difficult weather conditions and a significant number of technological disruptions in hard-to-reach wetlands, the power engineers of the company Rosseti continued the restoration work. An additional reinforcement of the grouping was carried out. At present, 344 crews of 1,417 people, over 400 automobile and specialized vehicles and 79 reserve sources of power supply with a total capacity of 5.955 MW are involved in the work. The recovery work will continue uninterrupted, until the complete restoration of power supply to consumers.
