Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region invested 82 million rubles in the reconstruction of the Mashzavod substation in the Udmurt Republic

9 October 2019

Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Udmurtenergo completed the reconstruction of the 110 kV substation “Mashzavod”, one of the key supply centres in Izhevsk. The substation provides energy supply to the city-forming enterprises of the capital of the republic - the Kalashnikov concern and Izhstal PJSC, as well as residents and social facilities of Leninsky district of the capital of the republic.

“Modernization of the domestic electric power industry in accordance with the concept of digital transformation of the industry requires high-tech and efficient solutions,” says Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region. “It will allow to significantly improve the reliability and quality of power supply to consumers. On the territory of the Udmurt Republic, the Mashzavod substation is undoubtedly one of the key facilities of the investment program, which, in addition to reliability, will create infrastructure for the development of the regional economy. This year, the investments of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region in the development of the region’s electric grid complex will amount to 770 million rubles.

In accordance with the reconstruction project of the Mashzavod substation, the power engineers installed a new modern 63 MVA transformer. As a result, the reliability of the substation increased, and the opportunities for connection of new industrial plants to Udmurtenergo’s electric grid grew up.

At the same time, a comprehensive replacement of the battery installation was made at the substation. In the event of emergency conditions, the new rechargeable battery will provide uninterrupted power to the substation control devices for several hours, which will allow quickly to eliminate potential violations in the power grid and minimize the consequences for consumers. Please, note that the new equipment was manufactured in Russia, it is environmentally friendly and safe, since the chemicals are kept in airtight containers, eliminating harmful fumes into the environment.

The reconstruction of the power facility included a large-scale improvement of a part of the territory of the Mashzavod substation. The power engineers repaired the facade of the substation building and, taking measures to increase the anti-terrorist and anti-sabotage protection of the facilities, equipped the substation with modern fencing and perimeter security lighting. The cost of reconstruction of the facility amounted to 82 million rubles.

Please, be reminded that the optimal model for managing the electric grid complex on the example of the Udmurt Republic was presented by Director General of Rosseti Pavel Livinskiy to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin as part of a working trip of the head of state to Izhevsk.

For just one year, technological solutions based on domestic software products were implemented in the Udmurt Republic, which significantly improved the reliability and efficiency of power supply, and the consolidation of regional power grid assets based on Rosseti already brought tangible benefits in implementing socially significant projects in the region.
