Power engineers of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region are ready for bad weather conditions

The Hydrometcentre of Russia warns of a complex of adverse and dangerous weather phenomena on 22 September in the Central Federal District

According to the forecasts of the Russian Hydrometeorological Centre, in connection with the movement of an active and deep cyclone from Scandinavia on 22 September, rains are expected in the Central Federal District, in the northern half of the district locally with wet snow, wind gusts in the district will reach 17-22 m/s, locally in the afternoon up to 25 -28 m/s.

Adverse weather events may affect a number of regions of operations of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region. Currently, both companies are ready to eliminate the consequences of possible technological violations.

If necessary, the companies’ branches will promptly introduce a high-availability mode. Currently, in case of weather deterioration, a set of preventive measures is being implemented here. The meteorological situation is continuously monitored, control over the electric grid infrastructure facilities has been strengthened, and clear information interaction with the Ministry of Emergencies, regional and local authorities has been ensured.

In total, 2,906 crews of 6,818 people, 3,500 automotive and specialized vehicles, as well as resources of contracting organizations can be involved in eliminating technological violations in all the branches of the energy companies. At their disposal there are about 1,969 standby power supply sources with a total installed capacity of about 61 MW, which can be used for temporary supply of power.
