19 September 2019

Director General of Rosseti Pavel Livinskiy and Head of the Udmurt Republic Alexander Brechalov launched the first digital city control centre in the city of Izhevsk. The solemn ceremony of transferring powers to dispatchers of the new city control centre took place today, 19 September, as part of the “Day of the gunsmith” in the capital of the Udmurt Republic. The new modern facility became a gift for the arms capital of Russia for the holiday.

The Izhevsk city control centre was created as part of the Digital Transformation 2030 project, which Rosseti is implementing pursuant to a decree of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin. The control centre is equipped with digital communication channels and information systems, which will allow online control of the entire electric grid complex of the capital of the Republic - to monitor the state of electric grid facilities, including the operation and repair of electric grid equipment, analyze the quality parameters of electric power, and coordinate the work of on-site and repair crews. Some operations will be performed automatically. All this will allow power engineers to significantly reduce the duration of technological disruptions, increase the reliability of power supply to consumers, and bring customer services to a new level.

As noted by Director General of Rosseti Pavel Livinskiy, the launch of the Izhevsk control centre, modernized on the basis of digital technologies, gives rise to a large-scale project for the reconstruction of similar points in all regions of the company’s operations.

“The city control centres will be created to manage grids in cities with a population of over 100 thousand people, and to manage the electric grid complex of entire regions, we are creating unified digital grid control centres where dispatch control will be transferred from Distribution Zones. By the end of this year, nine grid control centres, two digital Distribution Zones will be launched, more than 480 thousand smart metering devices will be installed in the Central and Volga Federal Districts,” emphasized Pavel Livinskiy.

Head of the Udmurt Republic Alexander Brechalov praised the contribution of the largest electric grid company in the world to the development of the region.

“Electric power is the basis for a comfortable life of the population and economic development of the republic. The agreements concluded with Rosseti are effectively implemented and have already brought tangible benefits in the implementation of socially significant projects in the Republic. Grid assets were successfully consolidated, today a modern, innovative control centre has been opened, other projects are being implemented as part of the digital transformation concept, all of which are investments in improving the quality of life of consumers in the Udmurt Republic,” stressed Alexander Brechalov.

General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing company of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy noted the effective cooperation of the power engineers with the Udmurt Republic. “The high level of mutual understanding with the leaders of the regions in which our company operates allows us to successfully implement such investment-intensive and socially significant projects, increasing the reliability of electricity supply, bringing the electric power industry to a new level of development. And the Udmurt Republic is a vivid example of this. The fact that it has become a pioneer in the processes of digital transformation testifies to the attention that the leadership of the republic and personally Alexander Brechalov devote to these issues. We hope to expand cooperation with the Udmurt Republic and find new platforms for effective cooperation,” said Igor Makovskiy.
