On 3 September 2019, a working meeting was held between Acting Governor of the Kursk Region Roman Starovoit and General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy. The parties discussed the activities of the region’s electric grid complex, as well as the implementation of digital transformation projects. First of all, this concerns the implementation of the agreement signed between the company and the Kursk region in the framework of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi in February this year. The document provides for the modernization of the electric grid complex using digital technologies. Roman Starovoit praised the activities of power engineers at Rosseti Centre.

“We remember very well that your energy organization in the region’s energy grid is one of the most significant in terms of volume and number of grids. There is a total of more than 43 thousand kilometres of grid facilities. Providing reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers, creating conditions for grid connection of small and medium-sized businesses, large consumers of the agro-industrial complex, specialists make a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the region,” stressed the head of the region.

In turn, Igor Makovskiy thanked Roman Starovoit for the attention that the regional administration pays to the company and for supporting the initiatives of the power engineers. “The Kursk region is one of the 20 regions of our presence where projects of the concept of digital transformation are being implemented. Already at the first stage, it is planned to put into operation the entire package of key pilot projects - the Unified Grid Control Centre, Digital Distribution Zone and Digital Substation. All ongoing projects are aimed at increasing the manageability of electric grid facilities, reducing losses of electric energy and, as a result, significantly improving the reliability and quality of power supply to consumers,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.

At the end of the meeting, Roman Starovoit and Igor Makovskiy expressed their readiness for long-term cooperation in creating favourable conditions for further socio-economic development of the Kursk region, as well as conducting a comprehensive modernization of the region’s electric grid complex using digital technologies.
