In Chelyabinsk, the closing ceremony of the All-Russian Congress of Power Engineers organized by Rosseti’s Group was held, during which 102 winners of the first in the history competition for specialists of the power grid complex “Energy Leaders” were announced.
Over the course of the month, more than 1,800 leaders of Distribution Zones and similar units from all over Russia demonstrated their theoretical knowledge and practical skills, performing various tasks online and “on the ground”. Remote assessment activities, a technical audit of 38 Distribution Zones of the Chelyabinsk region and the solution of cases in key areas of the development of the modern electric power industry were held.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rosseti, Alexander Novak welcomed the holding of such events and emphasized their special importance for the whole country: “It is no secret that energy is the basis of the modern economy. The industry is rapidly changing under the influence of modern technologies and it is very pleasant that the Rosseti company, in addition to the digital transformation of the grid infrastructure, is also investing in the development of the necessary staff competencies. I want to congratulate all the participants of the “Energy Leaders” contest and, of course, the winners. I’m sure you will make a significant contribution to strengthening and bright future of Russia!”
Acting Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Texler noted the importance for the region of holding the first historical congress of specialists and leaders of the country’s electric grid complex here. “We have a well-developed energy system in our region with its own generation and electric grids. But never, and especially in the age of the spread of rapidly changing technologies around the world, you cannot stop there. We will certainly continue to develop the region’s grid infrastructure and consolidate its power assets on the basis of Rosseti’s Group in order to ensure reliable and high-quality power supply to all consumers everywhere.”
The head of Rosseti’s Group Pavel Livinskiy announced the decision to hold such events once every two years to exchange experiences and ideas not only within Rosseti’s Group, but also with colleagues from other territorial grid companies: “The fact that we were able to communicate openly and with each other, and with representatives of companies that are not part of Rosseti, this is the main victory of each participant in the competition, the entire electric power industry, and the whole of Russia. I congratulate everyone on the end of the event so important for our industry. Together we will solve absolutely any tasks!”
The award ceremony concluded the work of the first All-Russian Congress of Power Engineers.

It manages 2.35 million km of power lines, 507 thousand substations with transformer capacity of more than 792 GVA. In 2018, the net supply of electricity to consumers amounted to 761.5 billion kWh. The number of employees of Rosseti’s Group of Companies is 220 thousand people. The property complex of PJSC Rosseti includes 35 subsidiaries and dependent companies, including 15 interregional, and the backbone grid company. The controlling shareholder is the state represented by the Federal Agency for State Property Management of the Russian Federation, which owns 88.04% of the share capital.
