29 August 2019

Specialists of branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region completed connection to electric grids of a number of large educational institutions of school and preschool education in regions of their activity (the companies operate in 20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation) on the eve of the new school year.

In the Belgorod region, work was completed on the grid connection of the “Vector of Success” school, built in the new “Razumnoye-54” micro-district near the regional centre. The school area of 14 thousand square metres, designed for a thousand children, will open on 1 September and will become the second such large educational institution in the region. For its power supply, a half-kilometre cable line was laid and a package transformer substation equipped with the latest equipment that will allow the school to efficiently consume energy resources was installed. The Belgorod power engineers also connected educational institutions in the “New Life” micro-districts of Belgorod and “Pushkarsky Dachas” of Stary Oskol and in Korochansky and Belgorodsky districts.

In the Tambov region, in the city of science of Michurinsk, power engineers connected a new generation educational institution to the grid - “School - Scientific and Technological Centre named after I.V. Michurin”, being built as part of the national project “Education”. The school for 1,275 children with an area of more than 26 thousand square metres is scheduled to open in September. In the three- storeyed, eight-module building, in addition to the most modern infrastructure and equipment necessary for the educational process, there will be specialized scientific incubators aimed at creating innovative ideas and developing projects in the field of modern technologies.

“The provision of electricity to educational institutions is under our special control. We consider this as an essential social function, since we are talking about facilitating the implementation of national projects aimed at solving urgent problems, including improving the quality and accessibility of domestic education, developing a comfortable urban environment, improving the demographic situation, and educating future generations,” stressed General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.

Grid connection of three new comprehensive schools, designed for a total of more than 3.5 thousand children, and seven kindergartens was completed in the Voronezh region. At the same time, new technologies and original technical solutions were applied. For the grid connection of the new building school in the village of Otradnoye in Novousmansky district, which will become one of the most equipped in the region, the power engineers installed reclosers on the newly constructed power lines - high-tech devices that automate the process of locating and isolating fault on overhead lines and switching on backup power supply. And the construction of cable lines for powering two new schools in Voronezh due to the local landscape and the high density of development was carried out using the trenchless method of laying underground utilities using special drilling sets.

Employees of the branch “Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Kalugaenergo” connected to grids a new school for a thousand children with in-depth study of English in Kaluga. In addition, on the eve of the new school year, power supply of new buildings of educational institutions was provided in the Nizhny Novgorod, Tula, Lipetsk and Ryazan regions. Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region plan to complete a number of major projects in this area by the end of this year.
