Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region summed up the results of the implementation of the Environmental Safety Program in the first half of the year, aimed at implementing the Environmental Policy of the electric grid complex. This year, the companies carry out 48 environmental activities in regions of their operations (20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation). Since the beginning of the year, they have already allocated about 30 million rubles for these purposes.
Much attention is paid to ensuring the environmentally balanced development of the electric power industry. Technical measures to replace oil circuit breakers with vacuum and SF6 circuit breakers are aimed, in particular, at this, which, unlike oil-filled equipment, are fireproof, have increased reliability and durability, and higher technical indicators.
At electric grid facilities of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, bare wire is replaced by self-supporting insulated wire (SIW). This measure allows to reduce the clearing area of routes (it is done to prevent failures associated with falling of trees on power lines), as well as to protect birds from effects of electric current. In addition, in the first half of the year, 9,490 special bird protection devices were purchased, which are installed on poles of overhead lines to ensure the safety of wildlife during transmission of electricity, as well as to reduce the failure rate in the electric grid complex associated with the life of birds.
Work on monitoring the content of the amount of pollutants at stationary sources of emissions and in the sanitary-protective zones of production sites, improvement and greening of premises of enterprises continued. In order to protect and rationally use water resources, specialists of branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region regularly carried out instrumental quality control of extracted underground and waste waters.
The arrangement of sites for accumulation of production and consumption waste is one of the important areas of environmental protection for the companies. In the 1st half of 2019, 30 demercurization kits were purchased for equipping mercury-containing lamp storage sites and 79 containers for separate storage of production and consumption waste.
In January-June of the current year, 99 managers and specialists of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region responsible for environmental protection were trained in environmental safety programs, including work in the field of hazardous waste management.
The implementation of the environmental policy is one of the priority areas for activities of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region. Ensuring the reliability and environmental safety of production activities, striving to rationally use natural energy resources, the companies contribute to improving the overall state of environmental safety in the country. In total, in 2019 they plan to allocate more than 92 million rubles to solve these problems.
