Smolensk Region Governor Alexey Ostrovsky and General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of the regional power grid complex

6 June 2019

On the site of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, an agreement was signed on cooperation in the development of the electric grid complex of the Smolensk region. The document was signed by Governor of the Smolensk Region Alexey Ostrovsky and General Director of Rosseti Centre (IDGC of Centre) - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region (IDGC of Centre and Volga Region) Igor Makovskiy.

The agreement is aimed at the sustainable development of the power grid complex of the Smolensk region and the formation of a favourable investment climate in the region. Within the framework of the agreement, the technical re-equipment and modernization of the power grid complex of the Smolensk region is expected, which will be carried out with the use of digitalization technologies as part of the investment program of the branch of Rosseti Centre “Smolenskenergo”.

The agreement establishes the strategic relations between the parties on the consolidation of power grid assets based on Rosseti’s Group of Companies, and also fixes a number of agreements based on long-term tariff regulation. “The main effect from the implementation of all these measures will be the reduction of failures in grids and the increase in responsiveness to technological violations,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

The Administration of the region has always had a constructive interaction with Rosseti Centre. And I am very pleased that with the coming to the post of General Director Igor Makovskiy, this interaction has become even more positive for our region. I am grateful to you, Igor Vladimirovich, for such an attentive attitude to all our appeals. I expect that the modernization of the Smolensk power grid complex will qualitatively improve the reliability of power supply and increase the level of customer service.

The document came into force from the moment of its signing and will be valid until 31 December 2028. The parties will continuously exchange information on the implementation of this agreement.
