Power engineers of IDGC of Centre teach schoolchildren of the Kostroma region the basics of digitalization

22 May 2019

In the Kostroma region, the action “Digitalization in schools!” continues. The event, launched in early May, was organized by IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division. Specialists of the branch conduct thematic classes in educational institutions of the region using presentation materials developed in the company “Alphabet of Digitalization”. Since the beginning of the action, “digital lessons” have been held in 12 districts of the region, more than 400 pupils of grades 3-11 became their participants.

For each age group of schoolchildren, the power engineers prepared presentations with a specific content, taking into account their level of knowledge and perception features. High school students are told about the levels of energy consumption, consumer expectations and the possibilities of the grid setup, the structure of the digital network and intellectual energy. Pupils of middle and junior levels are introduced with “smart” systems of management and distribution of electricity and methods of its transmission, as well as with examples of digital transformation in different aspects of human activity. In the final part of the lesson, pupils were given thematic visual materials to consolidate their knowledge.

“These classes are very useful. The guys need to know about the current state and about the future of the electric power industry. They must understand that it is they who will live and work in the new “digital” reality, where their knowledge and skills will be required,” notes the director of the Yakshang secondary school in Ponazyrevsky district, Galina Vyatkina.

Until the end of the month, the employees of the Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre will conduct about 15 classes on digitalization in schools of the region.
