Today, 19 April, General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (part of ROSSETI’s Group of Companies) Igor Makovskiy took part in the All-Russian meeting “On the results of the electric power industry subjects passing through the autumn-winter period of 2018-2019”, which was held in Moscow under the leadership of the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak. The Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, the Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation Vladimir Yakushev, the Chairman of the Committee on Energy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Pavel Zavalny, the Head of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision Alexey Aleshin, heads of industry companies and infrastructure organizations, representatives of the regional executive authorities made presentations on the agenda of the event.

IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, as in previous years, approached the past heating period in the state of maximum readiness. The company fully completed all organizational and technical preparatory activities. Special attention was paid to problem branches. In one of them, Tverenergo, on the threshold of the autumn-winter period, one of the most large-scale exercises in the entire history of the national power grid complex were held. The volume of work on clearing and expanding routes of overhead lines carried out within them is comparable to the volume of a three-year production program. One of the main effects achieved as a result of the exercises was a 50% reduction in failure rates at the branch’s electric grid facilities and a twofold decrease in the elimination of technological disruptions caused by recurring natural phenomena. The company’s readiness for the heating period was confirmed by Rostechnadzor’s inspections carried out before its start.

Thanks to the high-quality training, as well as the competent management, maximum concentration, increased efficiency, clear and well-coordinated actions of staff, IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, despite the significant number of dangerous meteorological phenomena that occurred in most of its regions during the heating season, did not allow mass outages and increase the total number of technological violations. One of the most serious blows of the elements to power engineers had to eliminate in early February. The strongest snowfall with icy conditions came at once to several regions of their operational responsibility in Central Russia. The most difficult situation was in the Ryazan region, where on the night of 6-7 February, as a result of heavy snowfall, large-scale outages occurred in many settlements.

The Ryazan power engineers responded immediately - 65 crews consisting of 180 people, equipped with everything necessary to eliminate technological violations in hard-to-reach areas, were sent to combat the effects of snowfall. 25 crews from the neighbouring branches of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region - Nizhnovenergo, Tulenergo, Vladimirenergo, and IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo and Lipetskenergo - promptly arrived to help their colleagues. The restoration of power supply in the affected areas went on around the clock. Already by the morning of 8 February, the fault recorded in the 6-10 kV and above electric grids was eliminated.

Specialists of the company also provided active assistance in the fight against the elements and the elimination of its consequences to colleagues from other subsidiaries and affiliates of ROSSETI. 51 emergency and repair crews of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, consisting of about 350 people and over 120 vehicles, helped restore power supply to power engineers of the Leningrad Region, who were hit by the Aapeli storm, accompanied by heavy snowfalls and gusts of wind up to 25 m/s. 43 crews consisting of 232 people and 67 vehicles participated in the liquidation of the emergency situation in the west of the Rostov region. All work was carried out efficiently and as quickly as possible for such cases.

According to the results of the heating period of 2018-2019, IDGC of Centre - the managing of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region improved a number of key performance indicators - the number of technological violations in the 35 kV grid decreased by 42%, in the 110 kV grid and higher - by 13%. The average duration of interruption of power supply to consumers in the grids of this voltage class decreased by 39% and 18%, respectively. The decrease in failure rates for IDGC of Centre and Volga Region was noted in the report of the Head of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Atomic Supervision Alexey Aleshin.

“The specificity of work in the energy sector is such that there is no time for a break. Having successfully worked during the past heating period, the company’s specialists have already started preparing for the next one. We have to solve a number of responsible tasks. Among them - the unconditional implementation of production programs and the performance of measures of the digital transformation program, strengthening control over the implementation of operational activities, further introduction and expansion of a risk-oriented approach to the formation of production programs for future periods. As a result, this will allow laying a powerful basis for further improving the quality and reliability of electricity supply to consumers in 20 regions of the country,” stressed General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.
