About nine and a half thousand children became participants in electrical safety lessons of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region in the first quarter

16 April 2019

IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (included in ROSSETI’s Group of Companies) summed up the work on the prevention of children’s electrical injuries in the first three months of 2019. The company implements for children and teenagers in the regions of its operational responsibility (20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation) a set of informational and explanatory measures on electrical safety issues. One of its most effective areas is lessons of electrical safety, which the energy companies conduct in schools, kindergartens, and social institutions. In the first quarter of this year, they organized about 500 such classes, about 9.5 thousand children became their participants.

The energy companies also use other formats and platforms for outreach work. Employees of the Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre, in addition to lessons, organized thematic sites within the regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren on the basics of life safety and the “Zarnitsa” military-sports games held in the region, where they tested their knowledge of electrical safety rules and taught them first aid to the injured from effects of electric current. And employees of Kurskenergo and Lipetskenergo taught children the rules for safe handling of electricity during the Open Doors Days held at these branches.

They also actively use Internet resources. Power engineers of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region have a social-educational group “Electropatrol” in the social network VKontakte at vk.com/elektropatrul, where one can not only find visual materials on electrical injury prevention, but also leave a request for a lesson in any educational institution of any population point of the regions of responsibility of the company. The same can be done on the corporate website in the section “Electrical Safety Basics”.

And at the end of March, IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region summed up the interregional Internet competition for the knowledge of electrical safety rules among children and adolescents “Electrical knowledge and Prizomania”. The competition was held from 1 October 2018 to 1 March 2019 and aroused great interest in all regions of the company’s presence: about 1,200 applications were submitted for it, including group applications, in total, they covered more than 250 educational institutions and pre-school institutions. The competition was covered on the corporate websites of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, as well as in the social and educational groups Electropatrol and Energolandia in the social network Vkontakte, where, during its time of holding, it was visited by users more than 23,500 times.
