IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region presented the “Digital Transformation-2030” concept at the interregional exhibition in Belgorod

18 March 2019

As part of the XVI interregional specialized exhibition "Energy saving and electrical engineering. Housing and Communal Services”, IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division presented the concept of digital transformation of ROSSETI’s companies “Digital Transformation-2030”. 110 enterprises from 14 regions of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus took part in the exhibition.

At the stand of the Belgorod branch of IDGC of Centre, participants and guests of the exhibition received detailed information on the development of the regional power grid complex and the tasks set for the power engineers for the near future.

In the framework of the digital transformation concept, the branch “Belgorodenergo” within three years plans to achieve 100% automation and remote control of distribution grids supplying socially significant consumers, to fully modernize remote control devices at substations of 35-110 kV, equip 110 kV lines with microprocessor-based fault location devices.

So, already this year, the first digital Distribution Zone will be created at the branch “Belgorodenergo” - Borisovsky Distribution Zone - and the first digital substation - the 35 kV substation “Nikolskoye”. The massive use of intelligent switching devices will allow real-time fault isolation in the grid, automatically redistributing the load and thereby reducing the time of interruptions in the supply of electricity. This will significantly increase the reliability of electricity supply to consumers, and hence the quality of life of Belgorod residents.

Projects for the automation of outdoor lighting in the region and the implementation of modern energy metering systems aroused great interest among the visitors. The power engineers noted that in the near future, smart meters will be installed both at 0.4-10 kV transformer substations and among consumers of the regional centre. This will make transparent the mode of supply and consumption of electricity and, as a result, significantly reduce losses in the grids.

“It is extremely important for us to convey to the regions information on the digitalization of the electric grid complex, the purpose of which is to change the logic of the processes and transition to risk-based management based on the implementation of digital technologies and big data analysis, which will reduce operational and capital costs, which ultimately will restrain growth of the grid component in electricity tariffs for end consumers,” stressed General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.
