The first group of chief engineers of branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (part of ROSSETI’s Group of Companies) completed a new advanced training program “Fundamentals of the IEC 61850 Standard. Current State and Prospects for the Development of Digital Substations”.
The training of specialists took place on the site of an advanced energy institution of education - Ivanovo State Power Engineering University (ISPU). During the training, the chief engineers of the branches studied the following topics: the concept of the innovative development of the electric power industry, the structure of the digital substation, the IEC 61850 standard.
The agreement on the development of special training programs for employees of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region on the basis of ISPU on the topic of applying the IEC 61850 standard and setup of the digital substation was reached during the visit of General Director of IDGC of Centre Igor Makovskiy to ISPU in January this year.
Within the framework of this advanced training program, heads of relay protection and automation services and divisions for development and operation of automated dispatch control systems of the companies’ branches will also be trained. In the second half of the year, the training will be held for specialists and engineers directly involved in setting up and servicing digital equipment.
“Digital transformation will have no effect if employees do not have the necessary knowledge and cannot work with the available technology.” Therefore, IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region do active work to expand the necessary competencies among experts and technical specialists of the companies,” stressed General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.
Ivanovo State Power Engineering University and IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region have been actively cooperating for many years to solve problems of staffing the enterprises of the electric grid complex of the country.
