Electric grid facilities of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region operate in normal mode

14 February 2019

All faults fixed in the 6-10 kV electricity grids have been repaired. Now power engineers are completing the elimination of the remaining applications of consumers in the 0.4 kV grid. Also, technical services are conducting a test of the reliability of the equipment. The power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (included in ROSSETI’s Group of Companies) control the situation and are ready to respond promptly to possible disruptions in the operation of the electric grid complex.

Please, be reminded that at night and in the morning of 13 February, due to heavy snowfall, increase of wind and snow sticking to wires and trees, there were disconnections in distribution grids of 0.4-10 kV. The main blow of the cyclone fell on the Bryansk, Kaluga, Tambov, Tula, Ryazan and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The power grid complex of these regions, exposed to the atmospheric front, did not receive serious damage. The reliability of power supply in certain areas where there were single interruptions in the operation of the grids was increased due to the installed backup sources of power supply, soon consumers were transferred to a permanent scheme.

The power engineers of the regions that suffered from natural disasters, who were on high alert for emergency situations due to unfavourable meteorological forecasts, promptly started eliminating the technological disruptions. Mobile crews were also redeployed to the work sites from the nearest branches of the power company, which allowed them to consolidate their forces and reduce the time needed to restore power supply to consumers.

The work was complicated by the continuing snowfall and strong wind, which slowed the movement of specialized vehicles. At the same time, in the shortest possible time, it was possible to power all socially significant and life support facilities: schools, kindergartens, hospitals.

All restoration work was completed before the end of the day on 13 February. At present, the electric grid facilities of the regions of presence of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are operating normally.

The power engineers ask residents to comply with safety regulations. Strong wind can cause wire breaks. Be careful: when detecting a broken wire, do not approach it closer than 8-10 metres, and report a dangerous find to your Distribution Zone or call the contact-centres of the power companies that receive calls from citizens via toll-free numbers around the clock: IDGC of Centre at 8 (800) 50-50-115 or short number 13–50 (for landline phones); IDGC of Centre and Volga Region at 8 (800) 100-33-00.
