“Digitalization for regions is certainly an increase in attractiveness for business through trouble-free power supply and an increase in availability of the electric grid infrastructure” - Igor Makovskiy

General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy in the framework of the forum “Electric Grids -2018” made a presentation in the panel discussion “Smart grids and new opportunities for regional development in Russia”.

The event was also attended by Alexander Pyatigor, Deputy General Director for Sale and Development of Services of PJSC ROSSETI, Kirill Yutkin, General Director of JSC Yantarenergo, Denis Yarosh, General Director of the Moscow branch of JSC NTC EES, and others.

In his speech, he elaborated on the existing and promising technologies for digitalization of the electric grid complex. Using the example of projects of JSC Yantarenergo implemented in the Kaliningrad region, he introduced the participants of the discussion to the effects that the company and the region received as a result of the implementation of digital technologies.

According to the head of IDGC of Centre, digitalization has a positive effect on regional indicators. “For the region, this is certainly an increase in the attractiveness for business through trouble-free power supply, increasing the availability of power grid infrastructure, the development of new business areas and the maintenance of new types of consumer behaviour,” stressed Igor Makovskiy in his report.

“Digitalization is a contribution to the future, which provides a significant improvement in the quality and reliability of energy supply with an increase in the volume of value-added services,” added Igor Makovskiy at the end of his speech.
