The strategic session of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region “Innovative development of the company. Perspective technological directions and effective organizational models” was held in the Skolkovo Innovation Centre.
The event was organized by the Development Fund of the Centre for Development and Commercialization of New Technologies (Skolkovo Foundation) with the goal of making skills and competencies of the Company’s employees to develop complex projects in priority areas of innovative development, including digitalization. Employees of the executive office and branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region took part in it.
In the first part of the session the Skolkovo resident companies acquainted its participants with innovative developments in the field of the electric power industry. In particular, the talk was about the experience of operating in Russia and the world energy storage systems, charging infrastructure and renewable energy sources, about the model and implementation of projects of a cluster digital substation, about the project “Digital electrician” using augmented reality.
Then the design work started. Having broken up into groups, the session participants, together with external experts, began work on project proposals concerning the priority areas of digitalization. The key themes identified were optimal models for implementation of innovative activities of the company, distributed generation and storage, modular digital substations, collection, aggregation, analysis of equipment monitoring data, new digital opportunities for staff.
The session ended with a presentation of solutions developed during the group work, the best of which were recommended for further development with a view to implementation in IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region.
The presentation of the projects was attended by General Director of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy. He highly appreciated the results of the session participants. “It was the first experience of such a format for making decisions and their further implementation. This is real live work, useful and promising - and we will definitely continue it in cooperation with the Skolkovo Foundation. I guarantee you, everything that was invented here and has an applied value will be necessarily used in the electric grid complex, and at the next stage of this project developers and manufacturers will be involved in cooperation,” the head of the Company stressed. According to him, the selected projects should be the basis for better research and development and meet the most urgent needs of the domestic electric power industry. “Real professionals work at IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region - and we could once again be convinced of this today. I am sure that we are ready for change and are able to quickly and efficiently restructure our work and successfully solve all the tasks facing us,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.
