Accounts receivable of Lipetsk Energy Retail Company to IDGC of Centre reached 2.3 billion rubles and threatens the activities of several energy companies of the Lipetsk region at once

29 November 2018

As of 29 November 2018, the value of overdue receivables of the supplier of last resort of the Lipetsk region OJSC “Lipetsk Energy Retail Company” (LESK) amounted to 2.3 billion rubles.

The situation has become critical in the heating period of 2018-2019 and threatens both the reliable energy supply of consumers and the financial stability of Lipetskenergo.

The Lipetsk branch of IDGC of Centre due to non-payments of LESK cannot pay to JSC “Lipetsk City Energy Company” (LGEK). This situation has developed due to non-payment of the electricity supplier of last resort in the Lipetsk region LESK.

The destabilization of payment discipline began back in 2013, when Lipetsk Energy Retail Company, which collects money from consumers, began to underpay Lipetskenergo every month. In turn, the Lipetsk branch of IDGC of Centre cannot settle accounts with other grid companies of the region. All this time, Lipetskenergo compensated for the underpayments of LESK at the expense of attracting credit sources and settled all its numerous obligations. But now, when the debt of LESK has reached the value of 2.3 billion rubles, it becomes extremely difficult to settle all liabilities. At the same time, now Lipetskenergo is going through the winter period, which is a special task.

In the case of further defaults of LESK, and this year the debt has grown by another 400 million rubles, the situation in the region will be aggravated, despite the fact that residents of the region regularly pay for electricity.

As of 27 November 2018, IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division was due to LGEK 187.4 million rubles for electricity transmission services. IDGC of Centre commented that as soon as LESK starts to transfer money to the accounts of IDGC of Centre, the debts to Lipetsk City Energy Company will be repaid.
