The results of two months of exercises in the Tver region: more than 8.5 thousand hectares of ROWs were cleared, the indicators of the calendar plan are ahead of schedule

28 November 2018

In the Tver region the large-scale exercise of ROSSETI’s Group of Companies, which started on 22 September to work out interaction and elimination of violations in the regional power grid complex, continue. More than 5,000 employees from 20 branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region participate in them. The tasks of the power engineers assigned to them within the framework of the exercises are performed ahead of the indicators of the calendar plan. According to the results of two months, they cleared 8,626 hectares and expanded 1,170 hectares of ROWs along overhead power lines, which is 121% and 105% of the plan, respectively. 336.3 km of self-supporting insulated wire (SIW) were mounted - 110% of the planned figures.

The list and schedule of work carried out as part of the exercises was made taking into account the geographical features of the Tver region, where a third of all overhead lines pass through forests and are therefore in an area of increased risk due to possible fall of trees onto wires. The purpose of the exercises is to fundamentally correct the situation, bringing all security zones of power lines to a standard state. At the same time, during their implementation, major adjustments were made to the plan. So, relying on the data of the conducted check and meeting the wishes of the municipal authorities, the power engineers almost by two times - from 6.5 thousand hectares to 12.77 thousand hectares - increased the planned indicators for clearing ROWs along overhead lines.

The exercises will complete on 22 December.
