Governor of the Yaroslavl region Dmitry Mironov discussed with General Director of IDGC of Centre Igor Makovskiy prospects for development of the regional electric grid complex based on implementation of digital technologies

23 November 2018

Governor of the Yaroslavl region Dmitry Mironov held a working meeting with General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy. The parties discussed a number of issues related to operation and development of the regional power grid complex.

The parties agreed to implement projects of digitization of electric grids in the Yaroslavl region. To this end, an agreement will be signed on pilot territories, where this will be in the first place.

Igor Makovskiy noted that the complete reconstruction and modernization of the electric grid complex on the principle of digitalization is one of the company’s strategic objectives. This work should be completed by 2030, and its main result will be reliable power supply to consumers.

“Currently, technological violations in grids still occur in the territory of the Yaroslavl region,” said Igor Makovskiy. “We are systematically engaged in solving this problem, having set ourselves the task of moving from the response and elimination mode to forecasting and preventing such situations.

Governor of the Yaroslavl region and General Director of IDGC of Centre discussed the situation with connection of land plots allocated to privileged categories of citizens to power grids. The parties agreed to cooperate in connecting preferential categories of consumers, including large families, through inclusion in the regional development programs of districts. According to Dmitry Mironov, the development of these territories requires an integrated approach and systematic construction of the power grid infrastructure.

“It is necessary to solve this socially significant issue step by step,” Dmitry Mironov emphasized. “We need to jointly take all measures so that next year the territories where the plots are provided will be supplied with electricity. Creating such an infrastructure for grid connection of individual houses is our direct task to support large families.

Igor Makovskiy assured that IDGC of Centre will make all necessary efforts to solve this problem.

“You can fully rely on us in this matter. IDGC of Centre, realizing its responsibility as one of the backbone companies in the region, is interested in jointly solving the tasks of integrated development of the territories,” said Igor Makovskiy.

The parties also discussed the issue of maintenance of electrical installations for street lighting. One of the key steps in its solution could be transfer of the entire infrastructure of street lighting (more than 50 thousand lighting fixtures) under the management of the joint company of the Government of Yaroslavl region and IDGC of Centre - JSC YarEGD. Such a decision, in particular, would reduce the budget expenditures for these purposes thanks to implementation of programs for modernization of street lighting according to the energy saving and energy efficiency programs adopted by IDGC of Centre.

At the end of the meeting, Igor Makovskiy and Dmitry Mironov expressed readiness for long-term cooperation in improving the reliability of the region’s power grid operation and creating favourable conditions for the socio-economic development of the Yaroslavl region.
