Igor Makovskiy: “High-quality and reliable power supply to the Orel region is one of the priority conditions for further development of its industry and tourist cluster”

20 November 2018

General Director of IDGC of Centre Igor Makovskiy made a working trip to the Orel region, where he checked the operation of the power grid complex of the branch “Orelenergo”.

The head of the company visited the substation “Zapadnaya”, which supplies Zavodsky district of Orel, the largest in terms of population and energy consumption. And also - the 110/10 kV substations “Vostochnaya” and “Severnaya”. Two of these power facilities are located within walking distance from each other, with the substation “Vostochnaya” included in the electric grid complex of Orelenergo, and the substation “Severnaya” belongs to JSC “GT Energo”. Currently, the question of the feasibility of creating on their basis a unified feeding centre is being considered. As Igor Makovskiy noted, the creation of a high-tech power centre will significantly increase the reliability of power supply to consumers in Northern district and create conditions for new grid connections of dynamically developing housing construction.

In the Grid Control Centre of Orelenergo, the head of IDGC of Centre heard a report on the operational situation and checked the relevance of the working schemes, after which he held an extended meeting with the management of the branch “Orelenergo” and chiefs of Distribution Zones. The event discussed the implementation of production programs by the branch “Orelenergo” and the company’s plans for the long term. Igor Makovskiy highlighted the priority of high-quality and reliable power supply to the Orel region for further development of its industry and tourist cluster. A long-term regulatory agreement between IDGC of Centre and the region can provide a powerful additional incentive to this process, the head of the company emphasized. “The introduction of a long-term tariff for transmission of electricity will significantly expand the time frame for investment planning, which will make it possible to fully take into account the needs of the region in new capacity,” concluded Igor Makovskiy.
