General Director of IDGC of Centre Igor Makovskiy had a working visit to the Udmurt branch of the company

General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy was on a working visit to the branch “Udmurtenergo”. He assessed the state and prospects of development of the republican electric grid complex, held a working meeting with staff of the branch.

During the visit, the head of the company visited the substations “Mayskaya”, “Kalashnikov”, providing energy to the population, industrial and utility enterprises of Izhevsk, the substation “Zavyalovo” and the reconstructed substation “Airport”, which are the key power centres of the rapidly developing Zavyalovsky district of the republic. Director of the branch “Udmurtenergo” Andrey Malyshev explained that at the moment a large-scale reconstruction is being carried out at the power facility in terms of the implementation of the project “Digital Substation”. The substation that feeds the air gates of the republic will become a reference point in the development of new technologies. Investments in the reconstruction of the substation “Airport” in 2018 will amount to 52.215 million rubles.

Also, Igor Makovskiy personally inspected the work of the control room of Zavyalovsky Distribution Zone. The head of the company got acquainted with the grid control scheme, assessed the working conditions of the Udmurt power engineers and the equipment of the Distribution Zone with specialized vehicles, gear and materials. Zavyalovsky Distribution Zone was selected as a pilot for the implementation of the “Digital Distribution Zone” project. As a result of structural transformations, optimization of activities and equipment with modern control systems of the electric grid complex, 100% observability will be ensured, metering will be automated, electricity losses will decrease, the reliability of electricity supply to consumers will improve.

During meetings with heads of subdivisions of the branch, Igor Makovskiy announced the upcoming signing of a ten-year regulatory tariff agreement with the Udmurtia Government that will allow power engineers to plan long-term investments in production and innovative technologies.

“In Udmurtia, which is among the six pilot regions, we plan to make the grid digital, innovative and highly efficient by 2022. Thanks to an agreement with the Government of the Republic, we will be able to increase the amount of funds allocated for the modernization of the grid complex.” noted General Director of the company. “We shall begin the active work in 2019, without losing time to get working. In the near future, we shall put in order the distribution grid, install smart metering devices, ensure one hundred percent of the grid observability, learn how to remotely control the power grid complex.

Currently, IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, in accordance with the requirements of PJSC ROSSETI, have already started developing programs for the full-scale implementation of digital technologies and control systems. Transition to digital grids provides for construction of power grid facilities with a high level of automation of technological process control, equipped with developed information technology and control systems and means.

Also, during the visit, General Director of IDGC of Centre familiarized himself with the work of the Grid Control Centre and the Customer Service Centre of Udmurtenergo.
