Head of IDGC of Centre was at the Smolensk branch of the company on a working visit

15 January 2018

General Director of IDGC of Centre Oleg Isaev checked activities of Vyazemsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division, and also met with the work team. This Distribution Zone is the second largest in the branch after Smolensk City Distribution Zone.

At present Vyazemsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre is reconstructing the 110/35/10kV Vyazma-1 Substation with replacement of 40 MVA power transformers with 63 MVA ones. The implementation of this project will create a capacity reserve for connection of new customers and remove existing restrictions with the power centre.

Also in 2018, within the framework of the investment program, work will be performed to automate the overhead lines Conductor-1007 at the Vyazma-Traction Substation and Conductor-1011 at the Vyazma-1 Substation with installation of reclosers, which will automatically isolate faulty sections of the grid and improve the reliability of power supply to consumers fed from these lines.

During his visit to Vyazemsky Distribution Zone, Oleg Isaev held a production meeting with the management of the branch "Smolenskenergo". At the meeting, the results of the production activity of the branch for 2017 and tasks for 2018 were considered.

One of the main issues of the meeting was the discussion of the branch’s production programs aimed at providing high-quality and reliable power supply to consumers in the Smolensk region. The key area of the branch’s activity to improve the reliability of consumers’ electric power supply is clearing and expansion of ROWs. In 2017 IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division cleared the ROWs of overhead lines from tree and shrub vegetation in the amount of 449.92 hectares at 110 kV overhead lines, 403.98 hectares at 35 kV overhead lines and 523.19 hectares at 6 -10 kV overhead lines. The annual plan for the expansion of the ROWs of the 6-110 kV overhead lines was fully completed and amounted to 560 hectares.

Speaking about the priority tasks for 2018, Oleg Isaev noted three most important: improving the reliability of operation of overhead lines, including through the implementation of an increased volume of measures to expand the ROWs, reducing the level of losses/technological costs for transmission of electricity through the development of an automated system of commercial electricity metering (AMI), as well as increasing observability and manageability of the grid.
