Representatives of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division congratulated Nikolay V. Nikolaev, a participant of the Great Patriotic War, a veteran of the Kursk power system on the 90th anniversary. Employees of the executive office, members of the council of veterans and the trade union organization of the enterprise visited the hero of the day, expressed gratitude for his contribution to the Great Victory and the post-war restoration of the region’s energy system and presented gifts.
On the same day, Nikolay Nikolaev received a congratulatory letter from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. "We are proud of your generation - the generation of heroes, who with honour passed through the difficult tests of the Great Patriotic War. You are an example of patriotism, dedication to the cause and the Fatherland. With all my heart I wish you good health and long life!" said the message, which was presented to the jubilee by the head of Rylsky district Andrey Lisman.
The fate of Nikolay Nikolaev is similar to the fate of many other representatives of the military generation. In the autumn of 1942, he, a fourteen-year-old pupil of an orphanage, became the son of a regiment in the city of Tuapse, where he was after the distribution. Along with his senior comrades fought in the Kuban and in the Crimea, taking part in the liberation of Czechoslovakia. The ceremonial jacket of the veteran is decorated with the Order of the Red Star, the Badge of Honour, the Patriotic War, the medal For the Defense of the Caucasus, For Military Merit, Georgy Zhukov, and 60 Years of the Great Victory.
Nikolay Nikolaev devoted more than 25 years of his life to the Kursk power system. His work path began in 1964, a mechanic in Rylsky Distribution Zone, then for 21 years he headed this production unit. He took part in the construction and modernization of substations and power lines in Rylsky district.
And today, despite his respectable age, Nikolay Nikolaev leads an active lifestyle - meets with young people, participates in the public life of the team of Kurskenergo.
