Joint inter-state emergency response training for companies of power grid complexes of Russia and Belarus completed

31 August 2017

Today, 31 August 2017, in the Mogilev region of the Republic of Belarus the joint emergency response training of the Russian Group of Companies "Rosseti" and the state production association "Belenergo" was completed. The purpose of the training is to eliminate mass outages of power grid facilities of distribution networks. On the Russian side, power engineers of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division (a subsidiary of "Rosseti") took part in it. The Smolensk and Mogilev regions are border regions, in the event of abnormal situations on the territory of these regions, emergency repair crews of electric grid companies of the two states should be ready to jointly eliminate consequences of failures.

According to the organizers, due to the impact of hazardous meteorological phenomena (strong wind, rainfall, thunderstorms), massive disconnections of power grid facilities of RUE "Mogilevenergo" in Mstislavsky district of the Mogilev region occurred.

According to the legend, additional repair crews were immediately sent to the district most affected by the weather, including a crew of increased mobility of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division, equipped with two specialized vehicles and a backup power supply source. After briefings and clearance the power engineers began to conditionally eliminate the consequences of violations in the operation of electrical networks. The Russian power engineering specialists carried out emergency recovery work using modern equipment, devices and specialized vehicles. As a result, by joint efforts the power engineers of Russia and Belarus managed to quickly restore the power supply in the districts affected by the bad weather.

Interstate trainings are held in this format with the participation of personnel of IDGC of Centre for the third consecutive year: in 2015 - in the Gomel region of Belarus (with the participation of the Bryansk branch of the company), in 2016 - in the Bryansk region of Russia. Summing up the results of the 2017 training, the organizers noted the skill and experience of all the crews, the high professionalism and coherence of the work of the Russian and Belarusian power engineers.
