The hockey tournament of IDGC of Centre, dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the Battle on the Orel-Kursk Bulge, is over

The hockey tournament of IDGC of Centre, dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the Battle on the Orel-Kursk Bulge, ended in Orel. It was attended by power engineers from the regions where this historic battle took place: the teams of the Orelenergo, Belgorodenergo and Kurskenergo branches of IDGC of Centre, and the Kalugaenergo branch of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. The tournament, organized with the support of the Department for HR Management and Organizational Design and the Trade Union Committee of IDGC of Centre, was held for the first time: this way the power engineers decided to honour the memory of the participants of one of the main battles of the Great Patriotic War.

For 50 days (exactly the duration of the Orel-Kursk battle), the participating teams played against each other in a circular system at home and away. The winner was the Orelenergo team, which did not have a single defeat in the course of the competitions.

The awarding ceremony of the winners and the best players of the tournament was held on 23 August, the day the battles ended on the Orel-Kursk Bulge. The best striker was Roman Konstantinov from Orelenergo, the best defender - Nikolay Zarubetsky from Kalugaenergo, the best goalkeeper - Roman Moskalyov from Kurskenergo. Another forward of the home team, Danil Gruzdov, became the top scorer.

Adviser to General Director, Chairman of the primary trade union organization of IDGC of Centre Victor Ablezgov and Head of the Orel Administration Alexander Muromsky congratulated all the participants of the tournament with a nice game and a desire for victory.

"For us, hockey is not just a game. This way we maintain a healthy lifestyle, a corporate spirit, a desire for victory, which helps to achieve high results not only in sports, but also in work. We hope that holding such events will become a good tradition," the captain of the winning team, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Orelenergo division director, Yury Volchenkov, summarized the results of the competitions.
