Power engineers of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre switched to a special operating mode

13 August 2017

In connection with the passage of thunderstorm fronts across the territory of the Tver region, a special operating mode has been introduced at IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division. All forces and means have been mobilized.

Today, 13 August, a strong thunderstorm and hurricane wind provoked local power outages on 110 kV transmission lines on the border of Bologovsky district and the Novgorod region, feeding the traction transit of the Russian Railways. This caused a temporary stop of the railway movement. In order to restore the movement of the trains, power engineers supplied voltage to the RZD contact network with 10 kV backup lines. At the same time, 8 emergency repair crews of Tverenergo left for the place of elimination of faults on the main power transmission lines, consisting of 43 specialists equipped with 12 specialized vehicles, including off-road.

Currently, unfavourable weather conditions in the form of heavy downpours and gusty wind are recorded in the western and northwestern districts of the Tver region - in the territory severely affected by the hurricane in early August. The power grid complex of Toropetsky, Andreapolsky, Nelidovsky, Penovsky, Ostashkovsky districts, which, despite considerable damage, was completely restored in less than a week, now is operating in the regular mode. The power supply to consumers of these municipal entities is under special control of the power engineers of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre.

More than 50 first responding mobile crews of Tverenergo, who are on round the clock duty, are ready to immediately begin eliminating violations in the electricity supply to consumers in the region. The Grid Control Centre of the branch conducts continuous monitoring of the situation.

IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division reminds that it operates the round-the-clock "direct line" of power engineers. Please, report facts of power interruptions by phone at 8-800-50-50-115. The call is toll-free.
