It involves teams from the regions where this historic battle took place: the teams of the branches of Orelenergo, Belgorodenergo and Kurskenergo of IDGC of Centre, as well as the Kalugaenergo branch of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. The tournament is organized with the support of the trade union committee of IDGC of Centre. As part of the first stage the teams played one game at the "Ice Arena" in Orel.

Before the start of the games, the heads of the primary trade union organization of IDGC of Centre and the Orel branch of the company, participating teams and students of the construction crew "Setevik" of Orelenergo held a solemn meeting in the Tankmen Square, where they honoured with a minute of silence the fallen in the battles for the liberation of the Motherland and laid flowers to the Eternal Fire.

The teams of Orelenergo and Kurskenergo that followed also demonstrated a powerful and gambling game. Nevertheless, the final result in favour of the hosts turned out to be more than convincing - 5:0, the victory of the Orel power engineers.
