30 June 2017 a storm warning announced throughout the territory of the Lipetsk region

30 June 2017

30 June 2017 in the entire territory of the Lipetsk region a storm warning was declared. Further severe deterioration of weather conditions led to technological disruptions in the grids of IDGC of Centre – Lipetskenergo division. Krasninsky and Yeletsky districts were de-energized, at the moment 23 crews are involved in the restoration work: 8 in Yeletsky and 7 in Krasninsky districts. During the disaster, 3 lines of 35 kV, 3 lines of 110 kV were de-energized, thanks to the operative coordinated actions of the power engineers, all of them are working in the regular mode. Out of 39 overhead lines of 6-10 kV, currently 20 have been powered up.

The reason for the fall of trees is breakage of wires due to a direct lightning strike.

23 first responding crews are involved in the liquidation of the consequences of bad weather, in the consisting of 72 people, 8 vehicles. First of all, work is being done to connect socially significant facilities, including connection to reserve power supply sources.

Due to the complicated meteorological situation, a special operating mode has been introduced in Lipetskenergo. The company has a crisis management centre for elimination of consequences of the disaster. Specialists of the branch are in constant interaction with the territorial department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and local executive authorities. The energy company continues to monitor continuously the hydrometeorological situation in areas of electric grid facilities. A thorough monitoring of the operation of equipment of all electrical installations has been organized, and readiness of additional operational personnel for carrying out emergency recovery work has been ensured.

If necessary, forces from other branches of IDGC of Centre and resources of contracting organizations will be involved in carrying out the restoration work.

For the period of elimination of technological violations, residents should take care and personal safety measures when they are in the security zone of power lines and transformer substations. If a wire lying on the ground is detected, it is forbidden to approach it closer than 8 metres! In addition, it is necessary to take measures that exclude the approach of people to the place where the wire breaks.

More detailed information on the progress of the restoration work can be obtained by calling the 24-hour direct line of power engineers at 8-800-50-50-115. The call is tool-free.
