IDGC of Centre continues implementation of the program "Green Distribution Zone"

The purpose of the program, timed to the Year of Ecology in Russia, is to attract public attention to environmental issues. It provides, in particular, for the active participation of IDGC of Centre’s employees in landscaping in the regions where the company is present. Along with traditional clean-up events, it is about greening the territories of Distribution Zones, beautification of previously planted avenues in public places, as well as memorials of the Great Patriotic War, other environmental events.

Employees of the company actively joined the implementation of the program, which is supervised by specialists of public relations departments. One of the most large-scale environmental clean-up events took place in April in the branch of Belgorodenergo: for three days the employees of the enterprise cleared the area of ​​the Vezelka river with an area of ​​1.5 hectares in the regional centre adjacent to the 110 kV substation "Zapadnaya". In the course of the work, which more than 100 people took part in, about 15 tons of garbage were taken from the shore.

A number of events were initiated by the Youth Councils of the branches. So, young power engineers of the Smolensk branch of IDGC of Centre put in order one of the natural objects of the National Park "Smolensk Lakeland", a dendropark located in Demidovsky district of the region. They landscaped the apothecary garden with flower beds of exhibition plants and bushes, dug up and prepared for planting the adjacent territory, cleared of natural debris beds with rare plants. The National Park "Smolensk Lakeland" has the status of a key ornithological territory of international importance and is included in the World Network of Biosphere Reserves of UNESCO.

In the Kursk branch of IDGC of Centre there was an action to collect used batteries, during which about 1,000 batteries were collected in the executive office and Distribution Zones. The "Champion" for the collection was Belovsky Distribution Zone, which accounted for a quarter of their total number. At the end of the action, all batteries were carefully packed and taken out for further disposal.

The power engineers also paid the closest attention to landscaping of the memorial sites of the Great Patriotic War. On the eve of Victory Day, several branches carry out planting of trees and bushes, measures for landscape design.

Implementation of the program "Green Distribution Zone" continues. The results of the work done by the power engineering specialists will be summed up in the framework of competitions on gardening, landscape design and improvement of Distribution Zones, which will be held in IDGC of Centre’s regions of activity.
