In the year of ecology IDGC of Centre to allocate more than 40 million rubles for the implementation of environmental protection measures

20 March 2017

In accordance with the Environmental Policy Implementation Program approved by the Board of Directors of IDGC of Centre, in 2017 the company will spend 40.6 million rubles on environmental protection activities. In the current year, the environmental policy implementation is defined as the most priority direction of the company’s power engineers. A set of environmental protection measures is implemented in all 11 branches of IDGC of Centre. This year, under the Program more than 50 environmental protection measures are planned.

As part of the Program implementation, IDGC of Centre’s power engineers will continue to work on the inventory of emission sources and control of the amount of pollutants at stationary sources of emissions and in the sanitary protection zones of the Company’s production sites, will take part in the improvement and greening of the territory of enterprises. For the protection and rational use of water resources IDGC of Centre will continue to carry out instrumental quality control of extracted groundwater and sewage. The set of measures for the protection and rational use of land includes compliance with the established requirements for the accumulation and transportation of waste, the reclamation of disturbed land.

The energy company pays close attention to its technical policy, annually implementing a set of measures to operate and repair substation equipment that contribute to the environmentally balanced development of the electric power industry (repair of oil receiving devices of transformers, drainage devices, replacement of oil-filled bushings with solid insulation). The long-term program of IDGC of Centre for the replacement of 6-10 kV oil circuit breakers in the distribution networks with vacuum ones, including the installation of reclosers, reduces the volume of dielectric oils used and excludes them from entering the environment. In addition, the need to recycle used oils disappears. Vacuum switches are noiseless, convenient to maintain, fireproof, do not pollute the environment.

The issue of the protection of fauna during the implementation of production activities remains one of the key issues in the implementation of the Program activities. In order to prevent bird deaths, it is planned to install about 4 thousand sets of special bird anti-collision devices at the company’s energy facilities, as well as to continue the implementation of measures to install self-supporting insulated wires that can protect birds and reduce the risk of emergency outages with their participation.

On a special account, the power engineers have to deal with the waste products of production and consumption. In 2017, the company will continue work on equipping waste storage sites - special containers were installed to store used mercury lamps and oiled wastes. In 2016, all branches of IDGC of Centre successfully passed the inspection of the territorial offices of Federal Supervisory Natural Resources Management Service in terms of compliance with the requirements in the field of waste management, which resulted in the company obtaining a license for activities for transportation of waste of hazard classes I-IV.

In accordance with the requirements of environmental legislation, all facilities of negative impact at the end of 2016 were put on state records. All facilities of IDGC of Centre are classified in the third category, which have a nonthreatening negative impact on the environment.
