IDGC of Centre’s delegation visited production facilities and held talks with the management of one of the leading manufacturers of diagnostic equipment

22 September 2015

As part of the exchange of experience with foreign companies IDGC of Centre’s delegation headed by General Director of the company Oleg Isaev made a working visit to Northern Ireland.

In the city of Lisburn there was a meeting with the company «CAMLIN» — CEO John Cunningham and members of the Board of Directors Peter Cunningham and Michael Cunningham, during which the parties discussed the approaches and diagnostic features of electrical equipment in IDGC of Centre and electric networks of Great Britain, and all product line of the production «CAMLIN» was presented. The company CAMLIN has a long history and delivery to the market of innovative development of diagnostics and fault location of electrical equipment.

Search and analysis of the latest technology and international manufacturers of instrumentation is needed to improve the efficiency of the production asset management system developed and implemented in IDGC of Centre. Given that the basis of the production asset management system is diagnostics of electrical equipment, the equipment of the diagnostics divisions of IDGC of Centre with a modern instrument fleet is a priority. In addition, studying the experience of foreign companies in the use of the control system will allow to improve performance and production standards.

IDGC of Centre’s delegation visited the production site of the company «CAMLIN», research centre and a modern testing centre for low, medium and high voltage equipment. In the test centre IDGC of Centre’s representatives were demonstrated with testing instrumentation products «CAMLIN» at an operating substation, as well as tests of a 10 kV gas-insulated switch using a diagnostics device of high-voltage switches «PROFILEP3» were performed. During testing CAMLIN’s experts showed features of the diagnostic tool, options for its use and evaluation of the technical state of the switch.

At the final meeting experts of IDGC of Centre and the company CAMLIN exchanged experiences on operation of electrical equipment in electric grids of 110-0.4 kV.

As noted in IDGC of Centre, quality diagnostics of electrical equipment can detect damage to equipment at an early stage of occurrence. The availability of these data allows the company to optimize the amount of costs of operation and repair of power equipment that helps to maintain the reliability of the electric grid complex. This diagnostics is of particular relevance today, in a situation of influence of the crisis in the economy when it is important to clearly set priorities and allocate targeted funds for maintenance of the power equipment.
