The best crew of electricians to be chosen at IDGC of Centre

From 7 to 10 July eleven best teams of regions, where IDGC of Centre operates, will fight for leadership in inter-regional professional skills competitions of crews for repair and maintenance of 0.4-10 kV distribution grids. The winner will receive a challenge cup and the right to represent the company at the All-Russian competitions of JSC "Russian Grids" in Penza.

Competitions of such a scale are held in company for the sixth time and for the second time at the training centre of Valuisky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division. Here electrical equipment and all conditions for perfect passing seven stages are provided in full.

Crews of Starooskolsky Distribution Zone (Belgorodenergo), Mglinsky Distribution Zone (Bryanskenergo), Anninsky Distribution Zone (Voronezhenrego), Sharinsky Distribution Zone (Kostromaenergo), Rilsky Distribution Zone (Kurskenergo), Lebedyansky Distribution Zone (Lipetskenergo), Maloarkhangelsky Distribution Zone (Orelenergo), Pochinkovsky Distribution Zone (Smolenskenergo), Gavrilovsky Distribution Zone (Tambovenergo), Kashinsky Distribution Zone (Tverenergo) and Rybinsky Distribution Zone (Yarenergo) are competing for the title of the strongest crew of distribution grids of IDGC of Centre.

Each team, in addition to the head, has four people: a master, an operator of Operation and Technology Group and two electricians. Participants will have to demonstrate their skills and perfect knowledge of professional intricacies during the passage of the seven stages.

At the first stage the crews will be tested for knowledge of regulating and technical documents and instructions, at the second to perform a set of measures for the release of a victim with electric shock and timely provision of intensive care for him. The third, fourth, fifth and sixth stages will be demonstration of the knowledge and skills that are used in daily work.

They will perform replacement of a section of insulated wire on a 0.4 kV overhead line in the span crossing the line of 10 kV and measurement of dimensions at the intersection. They will replace an intermediate reinforced concrete pole for a 10 kV overhead line with hoisting machinery. They will calculate, measure the loop "phase-zero" resistance on a 0.4 kV overhead line and choose an LV switch to protect the lines. And they will also replace a defective 10 kV bushing of a 10/0.4 kV transformer substation and measure the substation resistance. The seventh stage will be one of the most spectacular, in which participants will put out the fire at a 10/0.4 kV package transformer substation. In addition, the crews will take part in the competition for the best crew vehicle and best presentation video.

Winner of the previous competitions — the team of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division received the honourable right to raise the flag of the competitions.

"Competitions of professional skills allow for an objective assessment of the level of training in general and of each specialist separately, to exchange experience and to demonstrate new features and developments in the energy sector in Central Russia," stressed Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin. "The strongest representatives of their regions are participating in the competitions, so the fight will be serious. Let the best one win!"

Before going through the stages the jury appreciated the appearance of the teams, their staffing with necessary tools and devices, protective equipment, primary means of fire extinguishing, and checked the documentation of the teams. The main judging panel chaired by Chairman – Deputy Chief Engineer for managing electric grid facilities of IDGC of Centre Evgeny Turapin will monitor the progress of passing the stages.
