There is still a high probability of icing of cables and power line poles and standing near trees, communications line failures, collapse of advertising structures in connection with wet snow and strong wind.
IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division is continuously collecting actual weather data in the vicinity of large power facilities, the operation of substation equipment is checked more often. Operational staff of substations is ready to perform restoration operations.
Contact with contractors has been established, with which agreements on cooperation were signed on interaction in emergencies in networks, and data on the time of mobilization of available forces and means have been updated.
Extraordinary inspections of sites of overhead lines being in places of foreseeable risks are being held. Staffing of crews with protective means, necessary equipment, readiness of gear, special vehicles, vehicles and machinery for the availability to perform work has been checked.
Special control over critical infrastructure connected to the networks of Smolenskenergo has been introduced. The availability of standby power supply sources of electric energy has been tested to set temporary power supply of social facilities and consumers.
As of 11:00 December 1, 2012 the power system of the Smolensk region works steadily, there are no disconnected socially important facilities, and the main grid keeps its integrity.
Staff of responsible managers and specialists of IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division is on duty around the clock, who quickly interact with the Headquarters of the electric grid complex, territorial units of MOE, executive bodies, enterprises of FGC UES, operating companies of IDGC Holding, and other territorial power grid organizations. Operational exchange of information on the availability of emergency reserve and restoration personnel has been set.
68 crews (253 people) are on duty with 68 special vehicles, in case of a power interruption of consumers due to consequences of weather conditions, within 2 hours it is possible to increase the staff up to 192 crews (1013 people) and 307 special vehicles. 46 backup power sources have been checked to operate, which at the disposal of all 26 Distribution Zones of the branch.
