On 1 July, the grand opening of the summer work season for student energy teams took place at all branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region. Thirty-four teams received work placements. This year, more than 530 students from higher and secondary vocational educational institutions will complete internships at the companies’ energy facilities.
Representatives of educational institutions, government agencies, the youth public organization “Russian Student Teams” and the companies’ managers of the branches and youth councils participated in the events.
During July and August, students will work under the guidance of experienced mentors, become familiar with production processes, and gain practical skills in their respective fields. Professional and personal development programs are also available for the participants, including tours of grid control centres, substations, and other electric grid facilities, meetings with executives and young professionals, teambuilding training, and intellectual and sporting events.
One of the key events of the season will be an in-person professional skills competition for student energy teams. Participants will demonstrate their skills in repair and maintenance of electric grid facilities, their knowledge of electrical safety, use of personal protective equipment, and first aid. The best teams at the end of the season will represent the companies at the All-Russian Conference of Rosseti’s Student Energy Teams.
“Student energy teams are one of the most effective tools for training young specialists for the electric grid industry. Since 2014, 4,840 students from more than 50 universities and colleges have completed this program at our companies. Many of them are now employed at branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region. It’s important for us that future power engineers gain practical experience at operating energy facilities while still studying and make an informed choice of their profession,” noted Boris Ebzeev, General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC — the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC.
