209 innovative transformers to be installed by Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region in 2025

20 March 2025

Rosseti Centre, PJSC and Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC continue to modernize the electric grid complex, introducing transformers of a new generation that reduce technical losses by up to 60%.

The key feature of the advanced equipment is a core made of amorphous steel - a special type of metal devoid of a crystal lattice. Such alloys are more resistant to corrosion, stronger and have better electromagnetic characteristics.

Transformers with an amorphous core are characterized by high reliability, durability, and ease of operation. The equipment is fully localized in the Russian Federation: from steel casting to high-voltage testing. The capacity of modern power units is from 160 to 1,250 kVA.

Since 2022, innovative transformers have been installed in the grid complex of branches of the energy companies. In 2024, power engineers installed 287 devices of a new generation, bringing their total number to 658. All equipment has been put into operation and provides reliable power supply to residential buildings, industrial premises and educational institutions.
