Igor Makovskiy awarded power engineers for courage and selfless work in the Kursk border area

14 August 2024

A ceremonial formation of Rosseti Centre’s power engineers, who work in the “gray zone” of the Kursk region, took place in the camp of the Rapid Deployment Group (RDG). The national flag was raised to the sounds of the Russian anthem.

The RDG participants were greeted by Rosseti Centre’s General Director Igor Makovskiy. He noted that even under the counter-terrorism regime, the power engineers continue to work to restore power supply to areas affected by the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The head of the energy company presented corporate awards to particularly distinguished employees - while performing their work, they came under enemy artillery fire, but showed self-control, fortitude, and acted clearly and harmoniously, as befits true professionals.

“The courage of the power engineers, their selfless work in conditions of increased risks can be called truly heroic, although integral features of our profession. We will fulfill all the tasks set before us under any circumstances. Bringing light back to people’s homes is our main goal, for which we will continue to work no matter what,” Igor Makovskiy emphasized.
