At the meeting, they discussed the work of power engineers in the border region in the face of an increased level of external threats, and also outlined further steps to counter enemy terrorist attacks and increase the reliability of the power grid complex of the Shebekinsky urban district.
Recently, the number of attacks has increased significantly. Since the beginning of the year, 524 fire incidents have been recorded at energy facilities in the Belgorod region, which is 42% more than for the entire last year! The Shebekinsky and Grayvoronsky districts are especially affected. The enemy is cynically destroying civilian facilities, attacking civilians, and firing at energy crews restoring power supply in the border zone.
Despite this, power engineers continue to fulfill their professional duty, not only restoring the supply of electricity after shelling, but also implementing initiatives aimed at creating a comfortable urban environment. During the meeting, the parties reviewed a large-scale project to create architectural and artistic lighting for the central streets of the city of Shebekino with a total length of about 10 kilometers, where 1,200 lighting fixtures and more than 5 kilometers of contour lighting will be installed. Decorative lighting will decorate 94 buildings. These include the city hospital, museum, administration, temple and others.
The head of the Shebekinsky urban district, Vladimir Zhdanov, thanked the power engineers of Belgorodenergo for their dedicated work, which is now associated with a risk to life, and the prompt restoration of power supply to the residents of the district.
“Power engineers have been tasked with a number of strategically important objectives, the implementation of which today requires not only professionalism, but also real heroism. We have already done a lot and will continue to do everything possible for the comfort and energy security of residents of border areas, including the Shebekinsky urban district. The power engineers have the necessary experience and resources for this”, noted Igor Makovskiy.
“I would like to personally thank you and all the power engineers for the courage and professionalism that they demonstrate more and more, returning light to the homes of Shebekino’s residents. The power engineers did not retreat for a minute from fulfilling their duties, and every time they brought the city district back to life. People see and appreciate their work”, said Vladimir Zhdanov.
