Chief engineer of Rosseti Centre, PJSC Sergey Demidov: power engineers support the uninterrupted operation of the power system for residents of the Central Federal District

8 January 2024 We have been working around the clock in an intensive mode, despite the abnormal cold. During the period from 1 January to 7 January, we restored 811 broken wires, replaced 15 poles, 38 power transformers, removed almost 3 thousand trees from overhead lines, and inspected more than 9 thousand kilometres of power lines.

For the stable operation of power facilities, a number of measures were promptly taken: round-the-clock duty was introduced at the 110 kV power supply centres, special attention is paid to 110 kV lines feeding traction substations (SS), in addition, extraordinary inspections of 35-110 kV substations are carried out to monitor the load and operation of the equipment, additional crews were moved to the Yaroslavl and Vladimir regions. 2,307 backup power supply sources with a total capacity of 87.5 MW have been tested and prepared for use if necessary.

In all branches of the company, production personnel have been mobilized, round-the-clock duty of specialists and managers has been organized. We are interacting on an ongoing basis with authorities, divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and regional Headquarters.

Timely and high-quality measures for the maintenance and repair of power equipment, prompt response and, of course, the professionalism of our power engineers - all this contributes to the stable functioning of the power grid complex during periods of abnormal cold and maximum loads.
