Gleb Nikitin and Igor Makovskiy held a working meeting

1 December 2022 Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region, discussed the progress in restoring the interrupted power supply to regional consumers as a result of an unprecedented natural hazard in the form of freezing rain.

The head of the energy companies stressed that a reinforced grouping of forces and means remains in the affected areas: 123 crews from 15 regions, as well as supervising managers who will work until the grids are fully brought to a standard state.

The power engineers are additionally examining the state of power lines and substations and, based on the results, will develop a comprehensive program to improve reliability for the districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

“The reinforced group of emergency recovery crews that came to the aid of the Nizhnovenergo team will continue working until the grids are fully restored. I want to express special gratitude to the regional authorities and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Nizhny Novgorod Region for effective interaction in the interests of inhabitants of the region,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.

“I ask you to pay special attention in this work to the Bogorodsky district. It took the brunt of the elements. But even in normal times, the largest number of complaints about the electricity supply was recorded there. It is necessary not only to restore the affected areas, but also to increase the reliability of networks for the future. Another important issue is information. People lacked objective information about the timing of work. Decisions should be made only on the basis of reliable data,” said Gleb Nikitin.
