Igor Makovskiy: power engineers continue emergency recovery work and prepare for new challenges of bad weather

29 November 2022 Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC, at a meeting discussed the issues of eliminating the consequences of a cyclone accompanied by freezing rain, ice on wires and trees, snowstorms and squally winds. Please, be reminded that the bad weather began to rage on 18 November in the Voronezh region, then dangerous natural phenomena continued in the Belgorod and Kursk regions, from 22 November in the Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod regions, and on 27 November the bad weather moved to the Smolensk and Bryansk regions.

The head of the company emphasized that the dialogue built within the framework of interdepartmental interaction with the Main Departments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, authorities and the Unified Call Centre allows the power engineers to receive information about technological violations in time, reacting and eliminating them.

According to weather forecasts, further deterioration of the weather is expected in Nizhnovenergo, Tulenergo, Vladimirenergo, active emergency recovery work is underway in Kurskenergo and Smolenskenergo. 

The employees of the energy company were mobilized in advance and continue working around the clock, eliminating the consequences of technological disturbances caused by the bad weather. Only in the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region, 195 poles, 538 insulators were replaced, 1,396 wire breaks were eliminated, 4,552 trees were removed from the wires, and 1,054 spans of overhead power lines were additionally cleared.

“The power engineers are fulfilling their tasks of restoring power supply, while in an emergency situation it is extremely important to maintain a constant dialogue with residents. People should know that we are working around the clock to return light and warmth to their homes. The work will not be stopped until the power supply of all consumers without exception is fully restored,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region.
