Specialists from Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region restored power supply to about 50% of the residents of the regions, previously disrupted by a powerful hurricane

16 May 2021

Power engineers in an enhanced mode eliminate the consequences of abnormal weather events in the Central and Volga Federal Districts, which led to breaks and wires cross-whipping, falling trees from outside security zones on power lines.

The most affected territories from the hurricane winds and tornado phenomena were the Kostroma and Nizhny Novgorod regions. A special mode of operation has been introduced in these regions.

214 crews of 675 people and 269 vehicles are involved in the emergency recovery work, backup power supplies are used.

Over the past night, it was possible to significantly reduce the number of technological disruptions in power grids. Employees of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region will work around the clock until the power supply to residents of the affected regions is fully restored.
